On January 17, 2023, at approximately 7:59 p.m., the Fire Department and Northeast District officers were dispatched to a home in the 400 block of North East Avenue to investigate a dwelling fire. 

 

On January 17, 2023, at approximately 5:54 p.m., Northeast District officers were dispatched to the 5900 block of Radecke Avenue to investigate a reported shooting.

On Jan. 15, 2023, 61-year-old Michael Breckenridge contacted investigators, turned over his handgun to detectives and issued a formal statement about the shooting.

​​​​​​​On January 17, 2023, at approximately 9:08 a.m., Eastern District patrol officers responded to the 1800 block of North Wolfe Street, in the rear, for a report of an unresponsive male.

On January 16, 2023, at approximately 6:54 a.m., Western District officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Francis Street to investigate a Shot Spotter alert for gunfire in the area.
