On Jan. 17, 2024, the Office of Legislative Audits released its performance audit of the “Baltimore Police Department – A Review of Overtime Policies, Procedures, and Activity,” encompassing the time period of December 2020 through June 2022.

On Jan. 22, 2024, the U.S. Marshals’ Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) and BPD’s Warrant Apprehension Task Force (WATF) members arrested 32-year-old Jamal Smith, following a brief barricade incident in the 1400 block of N. Milton Street.

On Jan. 21, 2024, at approximately 4:02 a.m., officers responded to the 3500 block of Reisterstown Road to investigate an injured pedestrian in the roadway.
